Monitor Your Website Traffic
Knowing your customers is the first step in a successful online business. I find the following information invaluable when updating and tweaking my site:
-
Who is currently accessing your spa salon or boutique website?
-
How many users visit your spa salon or boutique site each week?
-
Which page of your spa salon or boutique website is the most accessed one? Model other pages in your site for maximum leverage.
-
Pages that need improvement can be identified.
-
Which sites are sending visitors to your spa salon or boutique site?
-
How many visitors accessed your site via a search engine and which search engine was that
-
Which keywords are sending traffic your way and with which search engines.
You can easily to do this is through most providers hosting panel or Google Analytics (a line of code is inserted into each page of your site and Blossom can do this for you) or your host provider's admin panel.
There are many ways to monitor this traffic and the gathered data is used to help structure sites, highlight security problems or indicate a potential lack of bandwidth — not all web traffic is welcome. If your bandwidth is exceeded due to overpopularity your website may cease to function. This can be caused by media or a link from a popular site, so it is good if you are doing lots of solid PR to ensure your hosting can support the increase in traffic, and perhaps upgrading your hosting.
